MUST APPLY AT UVI CAREERS PAGE. .The successful candidate will instruct clients in the development of comprehensive business plans, as well as operating plans for management development, market development, organizational structure development and financial management and financial proposal development. The candidate will also be responsible for the development and implementation of training events and workshops, promotion of the SBDC services and networking with community organizations involved in small business and economic development; enter and report counseling and milestone information into WebCats reporting system to meet all State and Federal requirements of the Small Business Development Center Program; develop and maintain familiarity with other external sources of business assistance for client referrals; provide general support and assistance to the VI SBDC network, and the implementation of the VI SBDC strategic plan; conduct research on small business development; write publications; advocate interests of small business; maintain business library; keep records; work independently to solve practical problems; and perform other related duties.Skills RequiredMaster's degree in business administration or related field and six years of experience in business management, business ownership or related professional experience in small business management with expertise in areas such as consulting to small businesses in accounting, marketing, general and financial management or commercial lending is required; Experience in preparing/reviewing business plans and/or business loan packages; Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; Self-motivated and goal-oriented; Skilled in working with clients/partners in both the public and private sector; Ability to manage confidential information; Ability to work effectively with technology tools, including computer software, hardware and the internet; Knowledge and skills related to small business development and business analysis, including business consulting, business financing practices and procedures, financial analysis, job cost accounting, establishment and maintenance of business accounting systems, financing options for business start-ups or expansions and preparation of business financing packages; Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, local, state and federal agencies, local development organizations and community business groups, banking community, co-workers, advisory board members and the general public.APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE RECEIVED THROUGH CAREERS.VI.
